Sika & Rita Ulutoa NewsletterMay 4th, 2026 Greetings to you all family & friends, We pray this finds you doing well and enjoying the blessings of the Lord in your lives. We have so much to be thankful for! As we look back over the past six months, we are overwhelmed by all that God has done in our lives. At the beginning of 2026, we were blessed to welcome a team of men from our home church, Fairlawn in Ohio. They gave a week of their time to travel to Montana—suitcases full of work clothes and tools in hand—to help us complete our base kitchen project. In just seven days, every detail was finished! The result is a beautiful, fully functioning kitchen that will host many—young and old alike—as we continue to serve the Lord here on the Flathead Indian Reservation. We began this undertaking in the fall of 2024, and we’re so grateful to report that the project is now complete. 2026 also brought another most beautiful blessing into our lives with the birth of our first grandchild. Tavita Jr. was born on February 3, 2026, to Tiana and Tavita, who are currently living in Winnipeg, Canada. Rita was able to spend almost a month with them in preparation for little Jr.'s arrival. What a blessed time we had together. Our hearts are experiencing a new type of love, and it is the best! In February, Sika had the opportunity to preach on a Sunday at Fairlawn and share the vision for a new church building project in Samoa called Build My Church. This project will focus on remodeling and repairing our village church—especially the roof—while also adding walls, windows, and dedicated space for children’s ministries, which is so greatly needed. Because our time was short, we weren’t able to connect with all our friends and family as we had hoped. If you haven’t yet heard about this project, we would truly love to share more details, including the vision and timeline. Please feel free to reach out—we’d be happy to connect with you! On our way home from Ohio, we made a special stop in South Bend to spend Parents Weekend with our daughter Leina. She is currently finishing up her junior year at University of Notre Dame and is doing so well! It’s hard to believe that this time next year—Lord willing—she will be graduating with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Japanese language. We are so proud of her hard work and dedication. We’re already looking forward to spending some good, quality time with her this summer! Last July 2025, we attended a missions gathering in Honolulu called Moana Gathering. During that time, alongside a close group of missionary colleagues, we felt deeply challenged—how can we see more islanders trained and sent out to the nations with the love of Christ? We sensed the Lord leading us to join forces and be part of a combined DTS (Discipleship Training School) hosted here in the islands of Hawaii—because together, we are stronger. Sika and I, along with our dear friends Tua and Patty Meafua, set aside three months from church and our YWAM responsibilities to come to Honolulu and staff the All Nations DTS in April 2026. In the midst of this, our son Uriah—who had just turned 20—felt the Lord calling him personally to step out in faith and join the DTS. This has truly been an answer to prayer, and we are so grateful to see him say yes to this season. We’re now in our fourth week of lectures, and already the growth we see in him is life-changing. Topics so far have included Hearing God’s Voice, Bible Overview, Fear of the Lord, and this week: Our Identity in Christ. We’re nearing the halfway point, and on June 20th, the students will head out on outreach—spending one month in Tonga and one month in Samoa. They’ll be working with churches, village and youth ministry, as well as serving and encouraging YWAM bases in both nations. One of the exciting parts of the Samoa portion of the outreach will be in Sika’s birth village, what a blessing! Uriah is still raising funds for his airline ticket and outreach fees, totaling $4,500. If you feel led to partner with him in this important season of his life, we would be so grateful. Please see the options below for giving. Thank you so much for your prayers, encouragement, and support! We feel now more than ever that the Lord’s return is near, and with that comes a deep urgency to finish what the Lord Jesus has called us to do. We hold onto this promise: We are so grateful to be on this journey together with you. Child Dedications
A core value we have here at Fairlawn is Gospel-Rooted Families, passing the faith on to the next generation. We love the children we have here. Child dedication is a great way to communicate to the church that parents are committing to discipling their children and desire the church to come along side them in the task. As a way to commemorate that time, we will give each child being dedicated a blanket from the church.
